Trick to Get More than 11 menu Home Screens on your iPhone

When we have published a post on some of the hidden features in iPhone OS 3.0, we had mentioned that you can now have 11 home screens instead of the previous limit of 9 home screens.

If 11 home screens are still not good enough, and you want more then you will find this trick discovered by Dayna of PHP-Princess very useful.

She discovered a way to create more than 11 home screens while moving around icons on her iPhone.

You first need to have 11 pages of iPhone apps to try this trick and then need to follow these simple steps:

•Move some of the default iPhone apps like Weather, Stocks, YouTube, Voice Memos etc. to the last home screen (I couldn't figure out the significance of moving default iPhone apps to the last home screen).
•Now take one icon from the 10th home screen and drag it over to the 11th home screen. This will force the last icon to disappear from that home screen.
•You should then download an iPhone app to fill the empty space created on the 10th home screen.
•And as Dayna puts it, magically you will see the 12th home screen which will have all the iPhone apps that were not visible.
She has also published a screenshot to confirm that the trick works.

I have many iPhone apps installed on my iPhone 3GS, however, I prefer to use Spotlight for iPhone (iPhone's search feature) as a quicker way to launch an iPhone app rather than flicking through home screens to launch them. But this trick is good to know so kudos to Dayna for discovering it.

Headphones for Iphone : Sennheiser MM50 iP

The Sennheiser MM50 iP headphones are a set of in-ears aimed at iPhone users. The headphones have a microphone and button built in, which will allow you to field phone calls and control your media player without having to reach into your pocket.

The MM50 iPs have great audio quality. They have a strong bass response, although the lower bass sounds might get slightly boomy.

But Overall, we thought the MM50 iP headphones were a great value. they provide great audio quality at a very low price. The plug doesn't have a very good cord guard, and sticks out (as opposed to some headphones, which feature a 90-degree bend after the plug). This means the cable can easily bend and pull against the cord, especially if you're connecting to a media player in your pocket. As long as you keep cord safety in mind, however, the MM50 iP headphones are a great choice.

TEST: Apple iPhone 3GS smartphone contenders

The iPhone 3GS isn't the biggest or grandest of updates, but for us, it does enough to
maintain Apple's number one spot. We assume Apple has taken an "if it's
not broke, don't fix it" approach.

Gone, however, are the days when Apple's mobile was a class apart from
its rivals. All of the smartphones here give it a run for its money,
beating the iPhone in some key areas, notably the camera, and running
it close in others, including the touchscreen – until recently, the
iPhone's was, well, untouchable.

So we have the Palm Pre, with its elegantly integrated mail, calendar
system and super-slick webOS. Then there are two contenders from HTC –
the Android-powered Magic and the more traditional Windows Mobile
experience of the Touch Pro 2 – both excellent in their own ways.

Nokia's N Series continues to grow with the new- N97, which adds a pull-out
keypad to the range. Finally, the Samsung i8910 HD takes the fight to
Apple on the media front, with a superb AMOLED widescreen and eight-meg
camera. This time last year, Samsung's "iPhone beaters" were laughable
– the excellence of the i8910 shows how far Apple's competition has
come...

Product summary

The good:
The iPhone 3GS finally adds common cell phone features like multimedia messaging, video recording, and voice dialing. It runs faster; its promised battery life is longer; and the multimedia quality continues to shine.

The bad:
The iPhone 3GS' call quality shows no improvements and the 3G signal reception remains uneven. We still don't get Flash Lite, USB transfer and storage, or multitasking.

The bottom line:
The iPhone 3GS doesn't make the same grand leap that the iPhone 3G made from the first-generation model, but the latest Apple handset is still a compelling upgrade for some users. The iPhone 3GS is faster and we appreciate the new features and extended battery life, but call quality and 3G reception still need improvement.
